After the rainy Saturday and visit to the Royal Worcester Porcelain Museum we awoke to dry pavement and once again went off to worship at the Cathedral of Worcester. This Sunday was a choral eucharist in the choir, where we attended the choral evensong the night before. It was a surprising change to Walt who had in his mind the previous week where we were at a service commemorating the departure of a Bishop to a new posting . Today we were a very small congregation in the choir behind the visiting choiresters. It was both pleasant and otherwise similar to the Choral Evensong with communion added. The sermon was very well done about prayer, whcih were the text in Luke about Jesus' deciples asking to be taught how to pray. The preacher talked about a guideline for prayer and the free spirit leading of prayer. She concluded that it was important to stick with prayer as Jesus highlighted in the passage just after giving them the Lord's Prayer, where the friend comes late in the evening to ask for bread for a guest, and gets it because he was persistent in his pleading, even though the friend was in bed and not initially willing to give in.

We talked to one of the clergy on the way out and then a regular perishioner at the Chapter House coffee hour, before heading home to a light lunch and rest. Before dinner we took a walk along the Severn River to a pedistrian bridge and then on the other side to the bridge near the cathedral, and back to the apartment. It was a good mile ad a half or two, so we were ready for a short rest before dinner.
